Bad Schandau
Bad Schandau is a resort town in the German province of Saxony. The town is located on the river Elbe in the valley of Kirnitzsch. Bad Schandau is situated near the Czech border and only 33km from the major city of Dresden and has the population of about 3,000. It is one of the tourist destinations of Saxony. Tourism began to develop in the 19th with the beginning of building the railways and sea transportation in the region. Bad Schandau spa resort is known since 18th century when a healing spring was discovered here.
Bad Schandau is the oldest resort in Saxony. The main sight of the town is "Toskana Therme". This bath was built on the site of the discovered curing spring. It is very popular among the tourists with its several pools, healing waters, tranquil music and wonderful aromas. "Toskana Therme" in Bad Schandau is an entire complex of wellness facilities.
